Letters to the Editor requirements

  • Ohio GWRRA welcomes original letters from readers on current topics of general interest under the following rules and guidelines.
  • Letters submissions are limited to 300 words. (Have more to say? Consider submitting an entire article.)
  • The author’s name and chapter will appear on published letters; we ask for your email address and phone number so we can contact you if necessary.  There will be no anonymous submissions.
  • Ohio GWRRA welcomes letters from readers on articles that have appeared in the district newsletter.
  • The Ohio district reserves the right to edit all communications and requires that all letters be signed or identified (by return email).
  • Letters will be edited, usually for grammar, spelling, clarity and libel.
  • If an attempt is made to contact a contributor and it is unsuccessful, a comment may be not be published.
  • We do not print form letters or open letters addressed to another person or institution.
  • The choice of letters for publication is at the discretion of Newsletter editor. They will not be able to respond to individual inquiries about letters. Copies of submitted letters are not retained; please save your own copy before submitting the form.
  • Illustrations, pictures, or graphics, will be accepted on a space available basis.
  • Brevity is appreciated.
  • A letter concerning a recent Ohio GWRRA article will have the best chance of acceptance if it is received within two months of the article’s publication. For instance, a letter about an article that appeared in April usually will be considered for acceptance only until the end of June.
  • The author acknowledges and agrees that the letter and all rights of the author in the letter sent become the property of Ohio GWRRA.
  • Letter writers are asked to disclose any personal or professional affiliations or conflicts of interest that readers may wish to take into consideration in assessing their stated opinions.
  • The views expressed are those of the letter writer and do not necessarily reflect the opinion or official policy of the Ohio GWRRA.

  • Politically incorrect,
    Political nature
    Sexually or racially offensive
    Or any article based on the decisions of the Newsletter Editor, or district Director.  All decisions are final.
  • Comments which appear confusing may be subject to minor editing.
  • Comments may be rejected if they are not related to the subject, purely a personal attack, offensive, repetitious or meaningless.
  • We reserve the right to edit or delete any/or all material.
  • Keep comments as brief and as relevant to the main article as possible
  • Those who choose to comment on comments need to be sure they have researched links and information provided by other contributors otherwise comments may be deemed meaningless.
